The program to stimulate domestic tourism in the form of returning cashback to tours in Russia starts on the night of August 21 and will last a week, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said on Monday at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
He said: «This program starts on the night of August 20-21 at 00:00 Moscow time. It will last exactly a week and end at midnight on August 28. The program is designed for tourists who use the services of tour operators, as well as those who like to travel on their own. According to our estimates, about 3 million people will take part in it».
Tourists participating in the program will receive a refund in the amount of 5 thousand to 15 thousand rubles, which will be up to 20% of the cost of the trip. At the same time, the journey must be made before the end of this year. All regions of Russia participate in the program, in several areas most congested in the season, trips will be available on cashback from October 1 to the end of the year.
